Looks yummy?

Have you ever tried preparing mushroom soup from scratch? Well, it is not that difficult. And it tastes better than the one already packed in tin. I had tried few times, by following this recipe and it turns out great, everytime! It is also healthier because there is no preservatives and you have control over the ingredients that you choose to put inside the mushroom soup.

I want to share with you the recipe today -
Homemade Mushroom Soup
This recipe can get you about 6 bowls of mushroom soup (Great idea if you have guests coming over)

You can watch this video for the preparation.

2 bowls of mushrooms (whatever type you can find in the grocery store), 1 bowl diced and another bowl blend;
2 onions - diced (I used the Holland type)
1 chicken cube
1 tablespoon of butter
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1/2 cup of water
Fresh milk
Evaporated milk (if needed)
1 tablespoon of flour
1 tablespoon of black pepper

Instructions:
1. Melt the butter and pour the olive oil.
2. Add the onions, stir and wait until they turn brown.
3. Add the chicken cube.
4. Add the mushrooms, stir and wait for a while.
5. Add the flour and quickly add the water.
6. Pour the fresh milk and lastly add in the black pepper.
7. Taste and add in a pinch of salt just to give some flavour.
8. If you feel that you want your soup to be extra creamy, add in the evaporated milk.

Nearly cooked.

So you see, easy steps to follow and also a healthy choice, hehehe. Here, watch the video I made while cooking it for our guests. And this is the video after it is already cooked.

It was served to the guests with French Bread - Breadmaker series and salad.
